26.09.09 Suspected Football Gambling Organizer arrested at local Snooker Hall.
Any form of gambling is illegal here in Thailand and on Thursday,
Police Sub-Lieutenant Nongpai from the Children and Women’s Protection
Unit Region 2 received information of a man who was thought to be
involved in a football gambling operation. Officers made their way to a
Snooker Hall in Soi Bongai in South Pattaya where they arrested Khun
Somyot aged 30 who was in possession of papers relating to alleged
football gambling. He was taken to Pattaya Police Station where he
admitted to running the operation for the last 2 years. He was charged
with serious gambling offences and will appear in court early next week.
